WE LOVE KUBRICK - Director's Series

We are ecstatic to be continuing The Ritz Director Series with another genius of his craft – Mr Stanley Kubrick.

Join us as we look through the lens of Stanley Kubrick’s brilliant career. This selection of some of his finest films is one of the best demonstrations of what can be achieved (and, what can be shown) on a cinema screen. Pushing the boundaries of censorship, ambiguity and political satire, Kubrick’s career spanning more than four decades is a deliciously varied mix of films, that above all else, are just pure entertainment that is best enjoyed in a darkened cinema on a big screen.

We are proud to be bringing  7 Kubrick films to The Ritz across 7 weeks for your viewing pleasure.

  • Stanley Kubrick’s dazzling, Academy Award®-winning* achievement is a compelling drama of man vs. machine, a stunning meld of music and motion. Kubrick (who co-wrote the screenplay with Arthur C. Clarke) first visits our prehistoric ape-ancestry past, then leaps millennia (via one of the most mind-blowing jump cuts ever) into colonized space, and ultimately whisks astronaut Bowman (Keir Dullea) into uncharted space, perhaps even into immortality. “Open the pod bay doors, HAL.” Let an awesome journey unlike any other begin.
