This Friday the 13th October, prepare to be PETRIFIED! Prepare to be TERRIFIED! Prepare to be HORRIFIED! Prepare for GRAVEYARD SHIFT.

A marathon celebration of classic horror films from the 1980s, which was inspired by Stranger Things which was inspired by these films - REVERSE INSPIRATION! The Ritz is screening an awesome selection of four films back to back for ONE NIGHT ONLY on Friday the 13th.

7pm – Kathryn Bigelow’s NEAR DARK (1987)
The Oscar winning director of HURT LOCKER started her career in the world of Vampires with this all-time classic horror flick. Starring the late Bill Paxton in his prime, this blood sucking film is the cooler older brother of the naughties love-pire craze, a must for all true horror fans.

9pm – Stuart Gordon’s RE-ANIMATOR (1985)
Based on the story by modern history’s original horror genius HP Lovecraft, this classic horror tale will leave you screaming your head off! Directed by master of horror Stuart Gordon, this is a tale of medical student dedication like no other. But be careful – it will scare you to pieces…

11pm – Wes Craven’s original NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984)
The introduction of one of the greatest horror villains of all time, Robert Englund as Freddy Kruger, is a horror masterpiece that will induce insomnia and increase coffee addiction for even the bravest souls. Starring a young Johnny Depp in one of his first roles, this scarefest will have you sleep deprived for weeks!

1am – Steven Spielberg’s POLTERGEIST (1982)
Widely known as Steven Spielberg’s biggest secret - he officially wrote and produced, and unofficially directed this classic with the master of horror, the late Tobe Hooper. The original “there’s a demon in my home!” film that inspired other home demon films like Paranormal Activity, The Conjuring, Drag me to Hell and Insidious, after this screamfest you will be taking a lot of care when opening your wardrobes…
