Ritz Movie Nights are a very popular and hassle free way to raise those hard to come by funds.

The Ritz Cinema is a supportive partner with many local community groups & events. We recognise the importance of your Charity and your efforts and work to assist you plan and stage a fantastic and successful fundraising activity.

The Ritz Cinema hosts fundraisers on a regular basis and has the experience and expertise to assist you with all aspects of your event. We also have the most competitive prices in Sydney!

Group Bookings start at 50 patrons, with great rates for all films.  Simply call us on 9399 7758 or email functions@ritzcinema.com.au for further information. We have a great line up throughout the year to choose from, with our function areas available for exclusive hire or a meet and greet for pre-movie get togethers.

Fundraiser & Group Booking Movie Options

Ticket Prices
Our standard ticket prices are:

Adult   $13.00       
Child   $10.00
Concession   $11.00     
Senior   $8.00

The minimum for a group booking is 50 guests with our largest cinema holding 800 guests.
We have a sliding scale when it comes to the final numbers for group & fundraiser bookings.

50 - 99 guests....$10.00 each (Adult)
50 - 99 guests....$9.00 each (Child)

100 plus guests....$9.00 each (Adult)
100 plus guests....$8.00 each (Child)

These great ticket prices allow you to charge your guests over and above this, therefore contributing to your fundraising efforts.  For a total package please see candy bar combo details below and Bar Ritz Voucher beverage options attached.
Please note: Selected "blockbuster releases" are not available for Fundraising bookings with these reduced ticket prices, during their first week of release normal ticket prices apply.
General group bookings and fundraiser bookings are admitted to any general session (excluding most Tuesday and  Saturday evenings).  Private Cinema Hire of any auditorium for a closed private screening would need to be negotiated on an individual basis.

What do I have to do?
We aim to make it Easy!

1. Choose a movie & chat with Functions & Events.

2. Confirm your Event via email with chosen options i.e. Movie + Candy Bar combo or Bar Ritz Vouchers etc, expected ticket sales, the charity’s details and our booking sheet.

3. Print up the ticket template(s) we send you via email & start selling!

4. Liaise with the Ritz Cinema on ticket sales for accurate seat allocations.

5. Pay a deposit one week prior and then enjoy the movie!

We collect your tickets at the door, reconcile them and finalise your payment at the end of the event.

How far ahead can I book a fundraising event?
It’s never too soon!  We can discuss with you the upcoming movies and release dates and these can be viewed on our website

What is the Classification of my movie?
Classifications are a guide for you to select an appropriate movie for your audience
:

Content is very mild. For General Exhibition.

Content is mild. Parental Guidance Recommended.

Content is moderate in impact. Recommended for Mature Audiences.

Content is strong. RESTRICTED to persons 15 years and over. Under 15s must present photo I.D. or be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

High level content. RESTRICTED to persons 18 years and over. Photo I.D. must be produced on request. No-one under the age of 18 will be admitted.

Can I arrange an Advanced or Pre-Screening of a movie?
Advanced screenings are possible for some features, and depend on the movies release policy.  Please speak to Functions & Events.

Can I screen a Classic movie?
“Classic” screening
s may be able to be arranged and depend on availability of the movie and distributor permission.  Please speak to Functions & Events.  It is generally easier to fundraise with a contemporary mainstream movie.

Can I Fundraise with a Blockbuster movie?
Some movies are considered “BlockBusters” i.e. Indiana Jones, Sex and The City, Twilight & Harry Potter etc.  Due to the guaranteed interest and ticket sales in the first week of release, we are not able to offer the sliding scale ticket discount.  Many groups however, still choose to host their Event on the release date or within the first week, as blockbusters guarantee large ticket sales.

When can I confirm my session time?
Session times are not always available at the time of your booking.  The Functions and Events team will contact you as soon as we have confirmed times.  Generally 3 weeks prior to the screening date, if not sooner, times are confirmed.  We recommend you make a flyer with the date and movie synopsis etc to gauge interest and pre-sell tickets, if you wish to promote the event before confirmed session times.  We are able to give you a time frame based upon your preference.

When can I have my ticket template?
The ticket template is sent to you as soon as all details are confirmed, including the session time.  The ticket template is designed specifically for your event.  The Ritz Cinema keeps these tickets at the end of the event.

Separate ticket templates are sent for Candy Bar Combos and Ritz Lounge Bar Drink Vouchers are given to you on the event day to distribute to your guests.  They are transferrable amongst your guests.

What if I over-sell my tickets?
We encourage large tickets sales and do our best to accommodate your Event.  Consistent communication with the Functions and Events Dept. on your progress will enable the Ritz Cinema to plan for the increased numbers.  We will do our best to accommodate extra tickets sold on the day if required.

What if I under-sell my tickets?
Unfortunately sometimes this happens.  This will affect the price of your tickets as per the sliding scale.  Consistent communication with the Functions and Events Dept. on your progress will enable the Ritz Cinema to plan for the decreased numbers to ensure no loss on general ticket sales.

Can I request which cinema we be seated in?
Once we programme our schedule and have a good idea on your ticket sales we can let you know which cinema you will be seated in.  The Ritz Cinema’s auditorium scheduling is programmed to accommodate many complex elements.  Unfortunately we are unable to move or rearrange a cinema screening.

Where will be seated within the cinema?
Once we have a good idea of you ticket sales we can let you know where you will be seated within the cinema.  Cinemas with a balcony may be arranged if your group number is appropriate and if available.

Can I have promotional material on display?
You may have promotional, reading material etc regarding your cause or charity on display.  We will assist you with an administration / merchandising / information table and where this can be located, relevant  to your allocated auditorium.

Can I run a Lucky Door prize, Raffle or similar?
You may run a Raffle or Lucky door Prize etc with consideration to other general patrons.  Unfortunately, the ticket templates cannot be utilised as raffle tickets etc, they are to remain with the usher. Raffles and Lucky door prize draw can not be conducted in the auditorium unless you are having a private screening.

Can I bring my own food &/or drinks to cater to my group?
The Ritz Cinema does not allow any food or drinks to be bought onto our premises.  We offer full catering options including Candy Bar, Ritz Café and Ritz Lounge Bar catering packages.  Hot food and glassware are not allowed in the Cinemas.  Persons found not abiding with our policy may be asked to leave.

How are the tickets collated & reconciled?
Ritz cinema staff will collect ticket from your guests at the door.  These are then counted and your final amount payable is prepared for you to finalise after the screening.  Unfortunately payment cannot be held off until the following day or thereon. IF you are attending the last session of the day, payment will need to be finalised at the commencement of the session, as the box office will be closed when your session finishes.

Can I get a refund on guests who do not attend?
Unfortunately there is no refund available on confirmed bookings.

How do I make payment and confirm my booking?
We require your pre-payment of all ticket sales to date, one week before your Fundraising Event.  Blockbusters require 100% full payment of ticket sales one week prior week to your Fundraising Event.  A receipt will be issued upon payment.

We will do our best to accommodate extra tickets sold on the day if required. This must be communicated to the Functions team to ensure there are additional seats available in your allocated auditorium.
Credit Card payment can be made by phone 9399 7758 (collect receipt from box office on screening date), or by company cheque or cash.

Visa & MasterCard only  -  Personal cheques are not accepted

RITZ LOUNGE BAR

The Lounge Bar is available for PRIVATE HIRE for
Corporate Events - Celebrations - Christmas Parties

We are proud to offer a unique venue with a relaxing atmosphere.

Whatever type of function you are planning, the Ritz Lounge Bar & Balcony is just the venue.

Functions can be tough to organise - expectations are high, budgets are stretched and everyone likes different things…

Why not try the stylish & original Art Deco, RITZ LOUNGE BAR & BALCONY? Our experienced staff will assist you with every detail of your party to make it a stress free and memorable event. We offer a variety of catering options:

-  Beverage Packages – Delicious Cocktails

- We have great rates, friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere

-  We can cater for any sized group

The space can be configured to host large or small functions including the balcony and mezzanine. The Ritz Lounge Bar can accommodate around 200 guests standing for a cocktail style party.  The adjoining Mezzanine area may accommodate a further 60 guests with the balcony able to host approx 50 guests seated or 100 standing. 

  • Ritz Lounge Bar can be hired with or without a film package.

  • We are a fully licensed venue, guests can take drinks from the bar into the auditoriums and enjoy whilst watching a movie.

  • Plasma Screen available for presentations or slide shows.

  • Children are permitted in the bar area when supervised by a parent or guardian.

  • Disabled & Bathroom Facilities.

We have preferred caterers who offer event catering packages including hot & cold cocktail finger food.
